Partnerships

Building lasting and significant partnerships is a key objective of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce. The chamber understands that through relationships with other outstanding organizations, the mission of the chamber to build a strong community and a vibrant business environment can be achieved. Below is a list of some of the partnerships that the chamber invests in annually.

Nashua Stays in School
In the fall of 2004, the Chamber partnered with the Nashua Stays in School Committee to produce Nashua Goes Back to School, a special program for the youth of Nashua.   This program offered over 1500 kids back to school supplies such as pens, paper, dictionaries, back packs and other needed supplies.  By bringing together local non-profits who specialize in helping at risk kids, this partnership allowed hundreds of local kids the opportunity to go to school with a back pack full of supplies at the beginning of the school year. The lack of school supplies has been identified as a key reason why students fall behind in their studies which ultimately contributes to the high drop out levels our community experiences.

School Match
The School Match partnership grew out of the need and desire for an independent assessment of the effort and product of Nashua’s public school system. In partnership with The Nashua Telegraph, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the United Way of Greater Nashua and local businesses, the Chamber funded an assessment and the creation of an action plan to improve the quality of the public education system. The results of this effort have created a valuable benchmarking tool for ongoing improvement in our local schools.

Nashua Asset Building Coalition
The Chamber is proud to be part of an effort to identify and make available, to working individuals, the financial resources that they deserve. The Greater Nashua Asset Building Coalition offers free income tax preparation services.  It is through this free, service that we hope to discover individuals and families who are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and/or interested in participating in the Individual Development Account (IDA).

Greater Nashua Workforce Housing Initiative
The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce is proud to build on the effort and support it lent to the completion of Mayor Bernard Streeter’s Mayor’s Housing Task Force by joining this regional effort to bring affordable and desirable housing to working families and individuals in the greater Nashua region. Housing is a key part of the infrastructure upon which a healthy and vibrant business community is built. The chamber is joining other community leaders to insure that the housing stock in our communities meet the need of the workforce.
