Network For Work

The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce is proud to promote a local grassroots organization known as Network for Work, which is comprised of local people helping each other find employment opportunities in the current recession. More information about Network For Work, and how to get involved, is provided below.

Background

Network For Work was founded by four unemployed professionals from Southern NH who quickly realized the importance of networking to find the next job. Beginning with the first meeting in February, 2009 at a local coffee shop, this grass roots group quickly grew from 8 members to over 350 in just 3 months. The group’s philosophy was established from day one. We will help each other make business connections, remain positive, and model the behavior, “Pay It Forward”.

Mission Statement

Network For Work provides a professional network to form business relationships that foster and promote career opportunities. We offer services and information to meet current and future career development needs.

Why Join?

Statistics show that in today’s job market, 90% of jobs will be landed through networking. Only 1.5% will be obtained through job boards. Online networking is extremely helpful in growing your connections, but face-to-face Social Networking remains the best way to build business relationships that will lead to contacts and referrals within your target company. * Elevator Speech: The name reflects the fact that you can create a positive, professional impression (an elevator pitch) to a potential hiring manager or contact in the time span of an elevator ride (for example, thirty seconds and 100-150 words).
